Somerset House became the new venue for London Fashion week in September 2009 and, after the success of that event, London Fashion Week returns for its preview of what we should expect people to be wearing later in the year, along with some of the more exotic ideas of some designers, which may well never been seen other than on the catwalk but without which London Fashion Week just would not be the same.
Designers flock to London to present their collections in one of the world’s premier fashion events in this iconic riverside building, which once had a success of royal and semi-royal occupants back in Tudor and Stuart days. London Fashion Week also gives an opportunity for up and coming designers to get their break through into the higher levels. Whilst the shows themselves are quite exclusive, you can see what was presented by registering for a ticket to The Exhibition or by attending the subsequent event, London Fashion Weekend, where some items are sold.
Travel: Take the District or Circle Line from South Kensington tube station to Temple station and walk up Arundel Street to the Strand for the short walk along to Somerset House.
